The world of ORIAKOS is an interesting one! ORIAKOS takes place within a simulation run by Agent Fox, who is in charge of monitoring certain subjects. There are several agents and several mindscapes being monitored through similar machines as the one Agent uses.

As for Subject, I'll give you a little tidbit of information just for looking at this page: He used to be one of the agents at Alcatraz Administration, the branch of the government that works with all these mind-related anomalies.

A lot of aspects of ORIAKOS are up to interpretation, but in the lore, the true ending of the experiment is the Exit ending. Subject is erased and recreated within the simulation over and over until he is a shell of his former self, and at that point, Agent's job will be complete. This process takes a toll on both of their minds, distorting them beyond humanity, into what we call 'extractions.'

There will be more games that take place within this universe, such as APEIRONSCOPE, which revolves around Allen - a political figure, and EPOCHEMANIA which revolves around Locke - a detective.
